MixTape Monday // Weekend Recap: 07.18.2011
Carma-whaaat? Those who live in Southern California know that Carmageddon was a total bust. Or success…whichever way you look at it. I bravely ventured out of the house on Sat. only to find that the streets were empty and traffic was a breeze. A lot of people were out of town or planned a staycation where they actually stayed home and spent time with friends and family and had bbq’s and pool parties and some good ol’ fashioned human interaction. But the best part? Just one weekend of a significant less amount of cars on the road resulted in clear, blue skies and fresh(er) air. We really need to do this more often.

My Facebook friends have already seen this pic but here’s a cellphone pic of E and I at The Hollywood Bowl on Saturday night to see Sarah McLachlan With The Hollywood Bowl Orchestra – our 2nd Sarah show this year. This was the best Sarah McLachlan show I’ve ever been to so far. The accompaniment of the orchestra and new arrangements really changed the sound and feel of her music. And, of course, nestled in the hills and sitting under the stars with a best gf helped, too. :)
Sarah McLachlan – Sweet Surrender (live with The Hollywood Bowl Orchestra)
Sweet Surrender was originally supposed to be a slow ballad and she performed it as such on Sat. night.
